Raw A2A2 Milk (via Herd Shares)
A2/A2 Raw Milk
We love our beautiful milk cows and call them by name. All of our cows are A2A2 and grass fed.
In the state of Virginia, it is illegal to sell or purchase raw milk. However, it is NOT illegal to drink raw milk from your own cows. Herd shares provide the benefit of raw milk to those who do not have the time or space to care for milk cows. My Shepherd’s Farm does not sell raw milk. We sell herd shares and shareholders become part owners of our herd of cows. Shareholders pay a one-time purchase fee and a monthly boarding fee which covers the cost of feeding, boarding, milking and caring for the cows. Each shareholder receives fresh raw milk weekly in a glass mason jar.
Shareholders have the option of owning a half-share, one share or multiple shares. To purchase one share in the herd, there is a one-time purchase fee of $60, a boarding fee of $44/month and the shareholder receives one gallon of raw A2A2 milk each week. To purchase a half share there is a one-time purchase fee of $30, a boarding fee of $22/month and the half-share holder received ½ gallon of raw A2A2 milk each week. To become a shareholder in our herd, please click on the “Contact Us” tab and you will be contacted to make arrangements. Milk can be picked up at the Wytheville and Abingdon Farmers Markets as well as from the farm.
